Warner Brothers has had a release day calendar over haul and this has resulted in many changes to the scheduled releases over the next couple of years. Here’s what you need to know:
- ‘The Batman’ Starring Robert Pattinson was due to hit our cinemas 1st October 2021, this will now be 4th March 2022.
- ‘Matrix 4’ Directed by Lana Wachowski was due to be released 1st April 2022 but has been moved forward to 22nd December 2021.
- ‘The Flash’ Starring Ezra Miller is now due to be release 2nd June 2023 instead of 4th November 2022.
- ‘Shazam 2’ has been pushed back to 2nd June 2023 instead of it’s original release date of 4th November 2022.
According to Warner Brothers the change to many release dates is due to production delays. As we all know operating usually in the current times is something every business is slowly learning. Many film sets were shut down in March 2020 due to the pandemic but slowly different films are being given the go ahead to start filming again with a few inevitable hiccups along the way. For one, ‘The Batman’ was again, suspended from filming in the UK just a few days after production resumed because Robert Pattinson tested positive for Covid-19.
Hopefully as things get a bit more back to ‘normal’, these hiccups will be ironed out and the industry can continue to grow and entertain us again.
What do you think of these shifts in the schedule?
