The New Jurassic World Movie: Whet Your Appetite With All The Details So Far

Jurassic World, the much-awaited fourth installment from the Jurassic Park movie series, is due to hit cinema screens on 12 June, 2015. With not long to wait, what do we currently know about this new dinosaur-themed offering?
One of the standout features of the new Jurassic World flick is the length of time it has taken to get to its current release date. Production was originally set to begin in 2004, with the film airing a year after. Yet it has taken a further decade to finally get Jurassic World ready for showing. Set backs, delays, false starts and numerous script revisions have plagued this fourth installment, but hopefully the end result will have been worth this extended wait.
As well as suffering from set backs in production and filming, it seems that there has been uncertainty over what the film was actually going to be called. Right up until 2013, the movie name was going to be Jurassic Park III, but a change of heart swiftly took place and Jurassic World became the official moniker.
The location of the filming of Jurassic World has been revealed to have taken place on the Hawaiian islands of Oahu and Kauai, as well as in Louisiana.
Director of the first two Jurassic Park movies, Stephen Spielberg, still has a hand to play in the production of the new flick, although his role is as executive producer, as with the last Jurassic Park movie. Colin Trevorrow is the director. Original cast members such as Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill and Laura Dern will not feature in the new Jurassic World. There will only be one actor in the movie, B. D, Wong, who has been a part of the other Jurassic films, and it appears he will have a more prominent role than in the previous flicks.
The leading man of the movie will be played by Chris Pratt. If you are wondering where you have heard this actor's voice before when watching Jurassic World, he was in fact the vocals for the main character, Emmet, of the hugely successful LEGO Movie. He was also star of the Guardians of the Galaxy, the big hit Marvel movie from last year. Chris Pratt will play the role of a trainer who can communicate with dinosaurs. He is on a desperate mission to recruit Velociraptors to fight a rebel hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, that has been created in a lab, and is starting to attack tourists at the dinosaur park.
Every action-packed movie needs a villain, and Jurassic World is no exception. Actor Vincent D'Onofrio is set to be filling the baddie's shoes in this flick, as he takes the role of head of security operations at the InGen laboratories, where the threatening hybrid dinosaur is created. He will be projected as a typical family man with a hidden side to his character.
